Braconid wasp Habrobracon hebetor, barely 3mm in size, positioning itself on Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella larva as it injects eggs into the larva using a needle_like ovipositor. Braconids are parasitoids which means they are parasites only during the larval stage of their life cycles. When the wasp磗 eggs hatch, they will feed on the larva, eating it from the inside out. These tiny wasps, and thousands of other species like them, are considered beneficial to humans as they control populations of agricultural pests.
