King swallowtail Papilio thoas butterfly feeding on flower nectar. These butterflies have a wingspan of up to 130 mm and are found in the U.S., and Central and South America. Swallowtail butterflies get their name from the way their hind wings have extensions that resemble those found on swallow tails.
