Solar Dynamics Observatory SDO footage of a huge solar eruption on the Sun, on 16th April 2012. This eruption was associated with an M1.7 class medium_sized solar flare, that was not aimed towards Earth. Some of the charged particles do not have enough force behind them to break away and they can be seen streaming back into the Sun. This footage covers four hours of activity, and was filmed in extreme ultraviolet light, a wavelength of 30.4 nanometres.
