LA, daylight, exterior. From 1879 to 1912, French postman Ferdinand Cheval built his Ideal Palace. Cheval built the palace with stones he had collected during his daily mail route, combining several styles and using the Bible and Hindu mythology as inspiration. The palace is regarded as an extraordinary example of Naive Art architecture. In 1969 it was declared a French cultural landmark. There are three sculpted giant figures on the east facade.
