Locked Down Shot, LS. Daylight. Exterior of the Castle and alley. The castle was built in the 10th century by Eudes I Count of Blois. The Norman knight Gelduin received Chaumont and reinforced the fortress. Significant restoration work was carried out from 1833 to 1843 by the Count of Aramon. The architect Paul_Ernest Sanson continued the restoration work on a much larger scale. He restored the East wing, adding a small passageway decorated with shells on the side of the park and the grand courtyard.
