Atlantic puffin. High-speed footage of an Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica) taking off from a rock on a sea cliff, followed by a number of other birds. The Atlantic puffin is found on and around the North Atlantic Ocean. It lives primarily on the water and is an excellent swimmer, hunting by chasing small fish underwater. It returns to land for the breeding season, nesting in colonies on northern coasts and rocky islands. Its brightly coloured bill is used in ritual mating displays. The Atlantic puffin measures about 30 centimetres in length. Photographed on Skomer Island, Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK.
