Vitelline masked weavers (Ploceus vitellinus) flying in and out of their hanging nests. Weaver bird nests festoon most African forests. The nests are constructed by weaving together grasses or strips of leaves. The intricacy of these nests can give the illusion of conscious design. In reality, evolved behaviour patterns lead to programmed sequences of steps that the birds follow when constructing their nests. Filmed in South Horr, Kenya.
