Timelapse footage of dust being blown by downburst winds. The downburst is formed by virga, precipitation that evaporates before it hits the ground. This evaporation cools the air, making it denser and causing it to move downwards quickly. The air spreads out when it hits the ground, causing powerful winds that radiate from the downburst area. Due to these strong winds, downbursts are a severe hazard for aircraft. Filmed in Colorado, USA, in spring.
