Timelapse footage of the growth of a young oak seedling (Quercus sp.), from a small shoot to a young plant. The young leaves are red, as the green pigment chlorophyll develops after they have grown. By the end of the clip, the leaves fill the frame and are fully green, photosynthesising to provide sugars for the plant. Filmed over 3.5 weeks.
