Tilt up the trunk of a beech tree (Fagus sp.) showing ivy (Hedera helix) climbing up it. Ivy clings to surfaces using aerial roots, and may grow dozens of metres vertically. It does not parasitise the plant on which it grows, using it only for support, although the weight of a large ivy plant can damage its host. Filmed in Denmark.
