Veined octopus (Amphioctopus marginatus) in a bottle on the seabed, reaching out to touch the camera. This octopus inhabits shallow seas in the western Pacific and Indo-Pacific regions. It is known for its habit of collecting objects and arranging them to form a protective shelter, considered a sign of intelligence. It also uses existing shelters where available, either natural crevices or, as here, litter. It feeds mainly on crustaceans, and can reach an arm spread of up to 40 centimetres. Filmed in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
