Light microscopy of two Dileptus anser protozoa flailing their necks back and forth to sweep bacteria into their mouths. The mouth of Dileptus is located at the base of the neck. D. anser is a ciliate protozoan found in fresh water. It can reach a length of up to 600 micrometres. Recorded under Nomarski differential interference contrast illumination.
