Hawaiian goose, or nene, Branta sandvicensis crossing a road. This goose is endemic to the Hawaiian Islands, where it is the official bird of the state of Hawai磇. The bird is only found in the wild on the islands of Maui, Kauai and Hawai磇. The Hawaiian name nene comes from its soft call pronounced neh_neh , rather than nean.
