Breast cancer. Sequence of bilateral axial breast magnetic resonance imaging MRI scans, showing a malignant tumour cancer, white mass at right in the left breast of a 58_year_old patient. This is an adenocarcinoma. The view looks up through the breasts from below, with the left breast at right. The sequence moves upwards through the breasts, with the tumour seen at the far right_hand edge, about mid_way through the sequence. The normal motion of the chest organs is partially seen across bottom. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. It can be treated by excision of the tumour if it is caught early enough. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are often used to prevent the tumour from reforming.
