Animation of a model of the human brain, showing the lobes and its internal structures. The largest part of the brain is the cerebrum, which is made up of four main lobes. These are colour coded: cerebral lobe pink, temporal lobe blue, parietal lobe yellow and occipital lobe green. The occipital lobe is at the rear of the brain, and is only seen when the brain is exploded to show the internal structures. These include the corpus callosum beige, underlying and linking the cerebral lobes and the various structures of the limbic system grey, which rests on top of the brainstem and connects the brain to the body via the spinal cord. At the back of the base of the brain, connected to the top of the brainstem, is the cerebellum dark pink, and in the centre of the brain is the small pineal gland pale pink.
