CU, PAN, daylight. Gallo_Roman ruins. The fortified town was the site of Caesar抯 final victory over the Gauls in 52 BC after a six_week siege. The first excavations were undertaken in the mid 19th century, and they uncovered the remains of a thriving Gallo_Roman town, Alise, complete with a theater, forum, and a well_laid street plan.
