Microcline (KAlSi3O8) is a potassium-rich (sodium-poor) alkali feldspar, an important constituent of igneous rocks such as granites and pegmatites. Microcline may be clear, white, pale-yellow, brick red, or green, such as this specimen. The green variety is also known as Amazonite or Amazon stone. Actual width is 170 mm, provenance is Crystal Peak in Colorado, USA.
