Manganosite is a rare mineral that usually occurs in manganese nodules. In this sample it is seen as black subhedral crystals, or morsels, in a matrix of white dolomite. The origin of this sample is the extremely mineral-rich mining area near Filipstad in Sweden. Actual size is 130 mm.
