Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904), Welsh-American journalist and explorer. Stanley is best known for his exploration of central Africa. He was sent by the New York Herald to search for Doctor Livingstone who had been lost in Central Africa. Stanley also led an expedition to rescue German physician and traveller Emin Pasha.
