Anyone diagnosed with Barrett's oesophagus is slightly more likely to get oesophageal cancer. It is often referred to as a pre-cancer condition. People with certain medical conditions, such as long-term acid reflux or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease are more likely to get oesophageal cancer.
