Bolivian farmer driving his herd of llamas (Lama glama). Llamas are a domesticated South American camelid. They are farmed for their meat, fine soft wool and hides, and are allowed to roam freely over the Bolivian altiplano, where they can feed on the sparse vegetation. The rural farmers are able to recognise their animals by means of coloured ear tags.
