Southern viscacha (Lagidium viscacia), one of the three species of mountain viscachas that live in the Andes Mountains. They inhabit sparsely vegetated rocky outcrops, cliffs and slopes and spend most of the day among the rocks and ledges, where they eat grasses, mosses, and lichens. Southern viscachas have very long ears and resemble long-tailed rabbits with a body length of 30 to 45 cm. Photographed in the Siloli Desert, Bolivia.
