Kirby Muxloe Castle, Leicestershire, 2011. General view of the castle across the moat from the east. Construction of the castle was begun in 1480 by William, Lord Hastings, a favourite of King Edward IV. Hastings was executed in 1483 after Richard III seized the throne and work on the castle ceased not long afterwards.
