Ante-room and doorway into the drawing room, British Embassy, 70 Wilhelmstrasse, Berlin, Germany, 1939. The Palais Strousberg, designed by August Orth, dated from 1867-1868. The British government purchased it as an Embassy in 1884. Photographed here before the outbreak of World War II, the building was demolished in 1950.
