Commemorative carving of Owl Man, According to legend Owl Man was killed at Icy Bay (in around 1890) by a tree which fell on him. The carving shows him with a birds body and a human head. It is believed to have been carved from the tree that killed him and was used at feasts which honoured his memory. Northwest Coast of America. Tlingit. Yakutat, Alaska.
