Planets colliding around the star Vega, computer artwork. Images from the Spitzer Space Telescope indicate that a collision of large objects, possibly the size of Pluto, occurred around the star Vega. Subsequent collisions of the fragments created finer debris and a large dust ring was formed. It is believed that this happened within the last one million years.
