Illustration of the South-African born biophysicist Michael Levitt (born 1947). Levitt is best known for his work in computational biochemistry. He and his colleagues Arieh Warshel and Martin Karplus are pioneers in the computational modelling of chemical reactions and protein folding using both classical and quantum physics. Levitt was awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, along with Warshel and Karplus, for their work.
