Illustration of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). This is a collaborative defence program initiated by several European countries under development by Dassault Aviation, Airbus and Indra Sistema. FCAS will be centred around a core Next Generation Weapon System (NGWS) with remote carrier vehicles and a sixth-generation jet fighter. FCAS is expected to replace existing combat systems by 2040.
