Arsinoitherium, illustration. This extinct herbivore was a prehistoric mammal resembling a rhinoceros, that is related to modern animals such as elephants. Its body length could reach around 3 metres. Arsinoitherium lived during the late Eocene and early Oligocene in northern Africa, from 36 to 30 million years ago.
