Light micrograph of seromucinous glands. These types of glands are composed of two types of secreting cells. The mucinous cells are filled with grey-white pale mucin substance. Intermixed amongst the mucinous cells, the serous cells are filled with darker purple granules. This image of seromucinous glands was taken from a section of a human bronchus. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10cm.
