This five-storey pagoda was the main temple of the Pure Land School (jodo) of Buddhism in the Kanto Region. Opposite of this bright red building is a dark watchtower. Surrounded by clouds, this was the tallest watchtower of Edo. Today the pagoda is located in the heart of Tokyo.
