Illustration depicting paper making machinery: Upper left is reservoir containing prepared pulp which is mixed with water and passed through a sieve into a vat. From here it flows through a fine wire cloth on which the paper is formed as the water is vibrated out. The cloth and water are passed through heavy rollers; then onto three steam heated rollers of increasing temperature before being wound into a finished roll - right. Dated 19th century.
