Engraving depicting William Walworth striking Wat Tyler as he speaks to Richard II at Smithfield. Tyler was taken to St Bartholomews Hospital; but Walworth had him dragged out and beheaded. Sir William Walworth (d. 1385); was twice Lord Mayor of London; best known for killing Wat Tyler. Wat Tyler (1342-1381) leader of the 1381 Peasants Revolt in England.
