(CAR) T-cell therapy. Composite coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of T-cells (small round) and a cervical cancer cell (Hela). T-cells are a component of the bodys immune system. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy takes T-cells from a patients bloodstream and reprograms them to recognize a specific protein found on cervical cancer cells. The T-cells are reintroduced to the patients blood system where the find and attack the cancer cells. Although CAR-T therapy seems to have less potential in solid tumours, its excellent performance in blood tumours still makes it have a promising future in the field of solid tumour treatment, including cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a disease in which malignant tumour cells are formed in the female cervix, and it is the most common malignant tumour in the female reproductive system
