The so called Princes Tomb, the Macedonian Tomb III, is one of three Royal Tombs found at Aigai, comprises two chambers like Philips tomb II. The Marble entrance is flanked by two pillars which support a Doric architrave and frieze with triglyphs and metopes. On the Ionic frieze which crowns the monument there was once a painting on a wooden moveable panel, of which only a few traces remain. On the walls of the facade there are two relief shields with faded paintings of heads. C. end of 4th Century BC.
