Antarctic fur seals (Arctocephalus gazella) under heavy snowfall. They can be found on sub-Antarctic islands and are characterised by their brown coats and visible ears. They feed primarily on krill, fish, and squid. Antarctic fur seals were nearly driven to extinction during the 18th and 19th centuries when they were hunted for their fur. The species is now protected by various legislations. Photographed in Portal Point, Antarctica.
