Iceland's 1000th Birthday Party -- Some of the thousands who gathered on Iceland's historic plain where the ancient althing, father of all parliaments, was found 100 years ago. Notables of the artistic, diplomatic, and military world gathered from all parts of the world to participate in the impressive millennial celebration. Many Americans were in the huge gathering, as scenes depicting the historic event were enacted.
