Poland; city of Poznan (former German: Posen): bronze statue of Hipolit Cegielski (Polish: Pomnik Hipolita Cegielskiego); unveiled 2009; The Latin inscription on the monument reads: "Labor omnia vincit" (English: "Work everything wins"). Gaspar J髗ef Hipolit Cegielski (1813 - 1868) was a famous Polish industrialist; philologist; journalist; publisher and politician. In 1846; he founded the factory H. Cegielski - Poznan S.A. which1923 employed more than 5000 workers. The company was confiscated by German troops in 1939 at the beginning of World War II. After the war; all machines and all Cegielski factories were deconstructed and transported into the Soviet Union. From 1953 to 1956; the company was named Joseph Stalin metal factory in Poznan (Polish: Zaklady Metalowe im. J髗efa Stalina w Poznaniu; ZISPO). From 1956 onwards; the factory produced ship motors. Starting in 1990; the company H. Cegielski - Poznan S.A. was revitalized.
