Artemis I, which launched on the 16th November 2021, is the first uncrewed test flight of NASA's Artemis program. It will orbit both the Earth and Moon and travel beyond the Moon. The furthest distance Orion will be from Earth is 450,000 kilometres. This is longer and further than any spacecraft designed to carry humans has flown before. The Artemis program aims to land the first woman and the next man on the Moon by 2024.
