Henri Farman (1874 - 1958), British-French aviator and aircraft designer and manufacturer. Appearing on the front cover of he Illustrated London News?for just winning the Deutsch-Archdeacon prize of 50,000 francs, at Issy-les-Moulineaux, France. For the successful flight of an aircraft heavier than air, flying at thirty-one miles an hour, over a circular course measuring one kilometre. Date: 13th January 1908
