On the left; the hero is depicted; recognizable by his lion skin; quiver and mace. He is about to tie up the two-headed Kerberos; guardian of the entrance to the underworld. Behind the Hell Hound is the messenger of the gods Hermes; dressed in chiton and winged hat.
