Fragment of a flashed glass (cameo glass); Formerly Adalbert von Lanna Collection (Prague); Glass; blown into shape; mouth-blown; flashed; cut; glass; Total: Height: 4.8 cm; Width: 3.3 cm; Depth: 1.15 cm; Table decoration; drinking and barware; satyrs; fauns; silene; Early Imperial period; Roman antiquity; The fragment was originally part of a vessel whose shape can no longer be determined. The translucent blue glass is covered with a layer of opaque white glass. In this layer; without exposing the bottom; the figure of a naked man is cut. His left shoulder and a part of his back are preserved. The left arm was formerly stretched out. The head is shown in profile to the left. Hair on the back as well as the comparison with other cameo glasses suggest that this is a satyr.
