Tuscany; village of Sovana; Sovana Cathedral (Concattedrale di San Pietro): "Siren of the churches" (Sirena delle Pievi; Longobard style) at bottom of left hand side of the side entrance of 1300 with two lions on top of two decorated columns and further Longobard style reliefs; The cathedral of Sovana was built from 11th to 13th century in Romanesque-Gothic style on older religious premises of 8th century or even earlier. The side entrance (portal) was added in 1300; when the new bishop palace was built adjactant to the cathedral. it is believed; that the Longobard style reliefs were taken from an earlier built portal or facade.
