Germany; State of Brandenburg; city of Teltow: maypole in front of town hall; This maypole (German: Maibaum) was erected on 24th of April 2021 according to the local tradition to built it during last weekend of April. The maypole is decorated with coat of arms and the signs of the craftmen`s guilds. The tradition to erect a maypole in Teltow was re-newed in 2011. But it dates back to ancient times and has Germanic and Christian roots. Mostly; maypoles are erected at 1st of May (or the night before) or at Pentecoste. The decoration of maypoles in this form dates back to 16th century.
