This 19th-century illustration of an apparition of the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815, (a week after the Battle of Waterloo) was described thus by M. Camille Flammarion, astronomer and author, in L' Atmosphere: ?淎ccording to the testimony of several reliable people, I could add to this fact an analogous observation, which was made in Verviers in June 1815 (the month and year of the Battle of Waterloo!). Three inhabitants of this town distinctly saw, one morning, an army in the sky, and with such precision that they recognized the costumes of the artillery, and, among other objects, a piece of cannon from which a wheel had just come off to be broken and which was about to fall.??,MIRAGE
