Ireland; Co. Kerry; city of Tralee: Sculpture "The Rose of Tralee" (detail) by sculptor Jeanne Rynhart; unveiled 2009. Irish sculptor Jeanne Rynhart is famous also for her sculpture Molly Malone; in Dublin. The sculpture illustrates the famous story of the rose of Tralee and a tragic love story. Beautiful Mary O`Connor (1820 - 1849) and William Pembroke Mulchinock had a tragic love story. But Pembroke composed a poem (ballade) called "Rose of Tralee". Since 1959; Tralee annualy choses the most beautiful women during the Rose of Tralee competiton; in August. A new glass wall (Rose wall of Honour) in the rose garden of the town park; called The Green; and directly at the sculpture shows the list of winners. In total; there are 5000 roses in the rose garden. Part of the city park is as well the garden of senses. There; one may find an art work of Paula O'Sullivan: a giant copper or bronze boiler; called "Cauldron of the Dagda" (cauldron: German: Strudel; Kessel); referring to the highest celtic God Dagda of the Tuatha de Danann. It is a a vessel of endless bounty. As well; there is a standing stone to honor Queen Scotia; mythical goddess of the legendary time of Milesians. Most impressive is the art work "Horns of Cloghercleian"; named after the archeological found in village of Clogherclen near Tralee; where 1875 a bronze treasure with celtic bronze age horns was discovered.
