It is famous for its sculptures by Berlin based sculptor Emil Cauner and the interior decorations by Szczecin based painter Adolf Dittmer. From 1956 to 1983; it housed the Polish Security Service. In 1964; war damages were restored. In 1970; protesters gathered in front of the building and attacked it. In 2002; all was restored. Most impressive is the figure of Roland the knight made by Emil Cauner.
