From Tonga To The House Of Collions Travelling 14,000 miles by air from Tonga to help welcome home the queen, are royal Tonga dancers Palu Vavau Tupou, and Veiongo Kupu, both cousins of queen Salote. They will give a demonstration of Tongan national songs and dancers at the Cumberland hotel on May 15th, during a "welcome Home" gala. Queen Salote has officially sanctioned the visit of her relatives, and has herself designed some of the skirts, necklaces and dresses which the girls will be wearing. May 12, 1954.
