Censer; spherical; Consisting of two hemispheres; the container on a (indented) round base with three legs; the ajour-worked lid with a lantern; with four openings and an eye on top. On both parts on the outside two eyes (originally three); to confirm the currently missing chain. The decoration on the container and lid consists; among other things; of three equally worked-out ball segments; distributed over both. They are decorated with symmetrical tendrils; the stems of which are composed of three ribs; which split; multiply and end in leaf motifs. The upper halves on the lid are provided with symmetrical tendrils; in which two four-legged animals are accommodated; with heads viewed from the side and from the front. In the recessed upper part an eagle with spread wings; ornament derived from animal forms; foliage; tendrils; branches; ornament; anonymous; West-Europa; c. 1150 - c. 1200; bronze (metal); founding; h 14.5 cm x w 9.8 cm
