Tomb of Arnold van der Sluis or Heusden; Knight (c. 1245-1296); The tomb has a cover plate on which the deceased with open eyes and hands in praying position; lying with two hands the head is shown on a cushion under a canopy. He wears a coat of mail and a coat of arms; from the right shoulder hangs the bandeller; on which the shield that almost completely covers the sword. He wears a wide belt around the waist; a belt around the head. On the shield the coat of arms; also city coat of arms of Heusden. In each of the two long sides of the tomb beneath shallow niches with blind window traces; in which four passes; four niches with window traces at the head end and three at the foot end. The footboard in the middle recess shows a young person dressed in a long robe with a band (?) In the hair and with the hands in a praying position; a coat of arms in each of the flanking niches; of which the judge shows a climbing; crowned lion with a split tail. On the sloping sides of the lid you can read the following inscription: ... ctis iac (et) h (ic) tumulat (us) Husde (n) si nat (us) ex clara stirpe vocat (us) Arnold (us) ) mile (s) the slusa sp (er) ne (re) viles Act (us) h (ic) novit falso ... olita (m) Q (ua) rto saved (n) das a mense dec (em) bre bald tie.
